AI Decision Center

Start with the decision before you start with the technology.

The DecisionFirst AI Decision Center is a practical way to pressure-test an AI idea before committing architecture, budget, data, or people to it.

1. Is there a specific business outcome and accountable owner?
2. Can you measure the current baseline and define what improvement looks like?
3. Is there a clear reason AI is needed instead of a simpler automation or process change?
4. Do you know what data the system needs and whether you are permitted to use it?
5. Have you defined the impact if the AI is wrong, unavailable, manipulated, or misused?
6. Is the AI's authority bounded, including the systems, APIs, data, and actions it may access?
7. Is human approval defined where the consequence of an error requires it?
8. Can you observe, audit, interrupt, revoke access, and recover from unwanted AI actions?
9. Do you have a way to measure cost against the business outcome after deployment?
10. Can you change models, providers, or deployment patterns without unacceptable disruption?

What to do with the result

Use the result to improve the next conversation. It is a decision aid, not an automated approval. Validate assumptions with the business owner, architecture, security, governance, legal, privacy, and other accountable teams appropriate to the use case.
